How many organic certifications are there in US? Which one is the most popular? Which ones should I get?

Question by reica: How many organic certifications are there in US? Which one is the most popular? Which ones should I get?
Our products (soap, shampoo, lotion, etc) have FOAM certification (European Standard). Our farm also has organic farm certification as well. We don’t use pesticide of any kind. We grow mixed plants in the lots so that certain nutrition won’t be use up by certain plants. We also grow flowering plants to attract insects which will help with pollination process. Please help if you know. Thank you in advance 🙂

New Study: Fungicides May possibly Be Killing Bees

For connected articles and much more details, please pay a visit to OCA’s Genetic Engineering web page, Millions Against Monsanto web page and our Honey Bee Wellness page.

Bee populations are dwindling across the globe, putting 1 in 3 meals crops like apples and almonds, which rely on pollination from bees, at critical risk.

In the US, beekeepers have reported annual losses of about 33 % of their hives each and every year, a level of loss that the Agricultural Study Solutions reports could threaten the financial viability of the bee pollination market if it continues (and some beekeepers report a lot larger losses than this at upwards of 70 or, in some instances, one hundred percent).

Regardless of the growing losses, the causes of the enormous bee die-offs have yet to be firmly defined, although accumulating study is pointing to a cocktail of agricultural chemical substances as a probably main culprit.

New Study: Fungicides Might Be Killing Bees

Systemic neonicotinoid pesticides have been increasingly blamed for bee deaths (and have been implicated in a recent mass bee die-off of 25,000 bumblebees along with millions of bee deaths in Canada), prompting the European Union (EU) to ban them for two years.

Now, it seems measures that target single classes of pesticides, even though a move in the appropriate path, may be falling quick. In a very first-of-its-kind study, researchers analyzed pollen from bee hives in seven main crops and found 35 various pesticides along with high fungicide loads. Each and every sample contained, on typical, nine diverse pesticides and fungicides, even though one contained 21 various chemicals.

Moreover, when the pollen was fed to wholesome bees, they had a important decline in the capability to resist infection with the Nosema ceranae parasite, which has been implicated in Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD).&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp

We are all subjects of the American Empire. Whether or not we live in North America, South America, Asia, Europe, the Middle East . . .&nbsp we are all below the thumb of neo-liberal capitalism that puts concentrated corporate power in handle of our lives. For decades, American Empire and wealthy elite have forced privatization of sources in establishing nations and austerity measures on public programs. Now, we are also experiencing these exact same policies in wealthier nations like the US and Europe.

All but the wealthiest are now members of the “Global South.” And, much more and a lot more men and women understand this. Folks from all over the planet recognize that we must stand with each other in solidarity to challenge the tiny minority that dominates us.&nbsp The revolts in Turkey, Brazil, Europe, the Middle East and Asia – as well as in the United States – are all connected.

These struggles share widespread messages that people are far more important than profit, that human rights need to be respected and that we want to live in peace with dignity. We see that capitalism is failing and that the folks must take control to create the type of planet in which we want to reside. The Afghan Peace Volunteers stated this clearly in their recent open letter: “accomplishing these actions hinges on us, on climate modify citizens, Arab Spring citizens, Occupy citizens and the ‘awakening’ citizens of each and every nation to free of charge ourselves from the unequal dominance of corporate governments with their laws and weapons of self-interest.”

And it’s happening. People from around the globe are functioning in solidarity and protesting on behalf of other individuals. Across the US, men and women are taking action to stop the drone warfare that kills innocent Afghans, Pakistanis and other folks. In Maine, they are taking a legislative method along with protest and in Iowa, people are walking 195 miles to the Capital, Des Moines.

Russia Warns Obama: Monsanto

For associated articles and much more data, please pay a visit to OCA’s Genetic Engineering web page and our Millions Against Monsanto web page.

The shocking minutes relating to President Putin’s meeting this past week with US Secretary of State John Kerry reveal the Russian leaders ” intense outrage” over the Obama regimes continued protection of worldwide seed and plant bio-genetic giants Syngenta and Monsanto in the face of a growing ” bee apocalypse” that the Kremlin warns ” will most surely” lead to planet war.

According to these minutes, released in the Kremlin right now by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Atmosphere of the Russian Federation (MNRE), Putin was so incensed over the Obama regimes refusal to talk about this grave matter that he refused for three hours to even meet with Kerry, who had traveled to Moscow on a scheduled diplomatic mission, but then relented so as to not result in an even higher rift in between these two nations.

At the center of this dispute among Russia and the US, this MNRE report says, is the ” undisputed evidence” that a class of neuro-active insecticides chemically associated to nicotine, recognized as neonicotinoids, are destroying our planets bee population, and which if left unchecked could destroy our world’s ability to develop adequate food to feed its population.

So grave has this scenario turn into, the MNRE reports, the full European Commission (EC) this past week instituted a two-year precautionary ban (set to commence on 1 December 2013) on these ” bee killing” pesticides following the lead of Switzerland, France, Italy, Russia, Slovenia and Ukraine, all of whom had previously banned these most dangerous of genetically altered organisms from getting utilized on the continent.

Two of the most feared neonicotinoids being banned are Actara and Cruiser created by the Swiss worldwide bio-tech seed and pesticide giant Syngenta AG which employs more than 26,000 individuals in over 90 nations and ranks third in total worldwide sales in the commercial agricultural seeds market.

Important to note, this report says, is that Syngenta, along with bio-tech giants Monsanto, Bayer, Dow and DuPont, now control nearly one hundred% of the worldwide industry for genetically modified pesticides, plants and seeds.

Also to note about Syngenta, this report continues, is that in 2012 it was criminally charged in Germany for concealing the truth that its genetically modified corn killed cattle, and settled a class-action lawsuit in the US for $ 105 million following it was discovered they had contaminated the drinking supply of some 52 million Americans in much more than two,000 water districts with its ” gender-bending” herbicide Atrazine.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp
