“Labeling It Ourselves”: With Real Food Calculator, Students Take Prop 37 into Their Personal Hands

For connected articles and far more information, please pay a visit to OCA’s Genetic Engineering web page, Millions Against Monsanto web page and our California News web page.

As the defeat of Prop 37 is mourned in California and all through the food motion, students are actually enacting it, continuing the challenging function for food chain transparency that they began well prior to the Prop 37 battle entered the mainstream.

For 4 years, from coast to coast, students have created, piloted, and refined the Actual Food Calculator, the most meticulous assessment tool for food procurement obtainable. The qualifications of ‘real food’ are stringent and precise, utilizing robust third-party certifications and going the further step in verifying source agricultural and labor practices. GMOs are outright prohibited from counting below any of the Calculator’s 4 categories: community-based, fair, humane, and ecologically-sound. The Calculator’s criteria in fact enact Prop 37 on an institutional basis – with it, students are literally taking Prop 37 into their own hands.

The True Food Calculator evaluates each food item purchased along with its supply, producing a percentage indicating the proportion of the school’s food spending budget dedicated to real food. Most importantly, the Calculator is performed by students – the consumers.

This is labelling-it-your self on a banner-drop scale, as students not only investigation and track multi-million-dollar budgets, but also engage with the final results and challenge their institutions to commit to and publicize measurable goals for improvement and policies for far more just and sustainable acquiring.

Carleton College senior Lindsay Guthrie, a leader of the Real Food Calculator Operating Group, feels strongly about the knowledge students gain by conducting the Calculator, noting that “the knowledge and the relationships they create make them uniquely prepared to be food leaders who can articulate the complicated dynamics of food getting. It is about much more than auditing the industry — as Prop 37 essentially would have carried out — it’s about positioning food advocates inside the technique and taking it back.”

Are Vegan Foods Actually Vegan? The Farms Are Not Vegan

www.peacethunder.com Help VEGANIC FARMING = Help %100 VEGAN FOODS THAT DO NOT Develop INSIDE POOP, BLOOD AND BONE OF MURDERED ANIMALS AND ARE NOT INFECTED BY SALMONELLA , ECOLI,… BACTERIA. Are fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds,…. vegan? The sad truth is that there is no %100 vegan food. Foods come from non-vegan farms that use animal manure (from factory farms that abuse and kill animals) and slaughterhouse waste such as blood and bone of murdered animals to fertilize the soil. Consequently animal waste is mixed with our food. Foods sold in stores could come from traditional or organic farms. Traditional farms use more chemical compounds but much less animal waste products as fertilizers. Organic farms also use chemical substances but the chemical substances might be drived from all-natural components and much less harmfull, they also use huge amounts of animal waste (manure, bone, blood) and rely on factory farms slaughtehouses. As a result organic products are even much more damaging than traditional items because they have greater risk of FECAL CONTAMINATION. Major source of Salmonella and Ecoli bacteria is animal manure. To consume %100 vegan food, the only solution is to consume foods that come from VEGANIC FARMS. Veganic = Vegan Natural These farms use vegan frtilizers and no pesticides herbicides and no animal waste.

The Invisible Nuclear Threat Within Non-Organic Food

For related articles and a lot more information, please pay a visit to OCA’s All About Organics page and our Cease Food Irradiation Project page.

Whether you know it or or not, nuclear waste (cobalt-60) has been used for decades to make your food “safer.”

There is a profound misunderstanding in the mass marketplace today about the worth of certified organic food.&nbsp The query is not whether the 50% larger or much more you pay at the register for an organic product is truly worth the added vitamin, mineral and phytonutrient content material you acquire.&nbsp Even though organic food does generally have significantly larger nutrient density, it is not constantly the good top quality of what it contains that makes it so unique. Rather, it is what you know the organic food does not include, or what has not occurred to it on its journey to your table, that tends to make purchasing organic a no-brainer to the educated consumer.&nbsp Let me explain.

The FDA presently supports and actively promotes the use of cobalt-60 culled from nuclear reactors as a form of “electronic pasteurization” on all domestically made standard food. They claim it makes the food “safer.”1 The use of euphemisms like “food additive” and “pasteurization” to describe the procedure of blasting food with inordinately high levels of gamma radiation can not obviate the reality that the extremely exact same death rays produced by thermonuclear warfare to destroy life are now being applied to food to “make it safer.”&nbsp This sort of Orwellian logic, e.g. WAR is PEACE, is the bread and butter of State-sponsored market propaganda, and also informs other ostensibly “humanitarian” applications of weapons of mass instruction such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Inconceivably Higher Amounts of Radiation Utilized To “Pasteurize” Your Food

This is not a hypochondriac’s ranting, as we are not speaking here about little amounts of radiation.&nbsp The level of gamma radiation utilized begins at 1 kiloGray (equivalent to 16,700,000 chest x-rays or 333 occasions a human lethal dose) and goes all the way up to 30 kiloGray (500,000,000 chest x-rays or ten,000 times a human lethal dose).&nbsp The following table is a list of foods that are increasingly becoming “nuked” for your protection.
